BW’s PEEK has been used, at least once, in Taiwan by shoe mold manufacturers in their molds.
As PEEK has properties such as strong adhesion to metal, wear resistance, etc. , the same is the case as with EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) used earlier.
As was adopted and used in the past with EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer) coating, the life of this product was noted to have been extended to 30 times.
has an ageing time 30 times longer than the EVA ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer coating used earlier. Previous to this it was coated with PTEE (polytetrafluoroethylene) but the adhesion was not very strong and it had to be recoated, on average, every day or two.
Previously PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) was also used but it had very poor adhesion characteristics and it had to be re-coated every one or two days on an average.
Sources from Japan also reveal that BW’s coatings have been PEEK Coatings used by a German metering equipment factory in the field of food processing electrostatic capacity-type liquid level meters to detect the insulation coating of the probe. That is, replace the traditional fluorine plastic with PEEK: This can enhance the stability of the measurement results, extending the product life of 20% ~ 50%. PEEK used in electrostatic detection probe of electrostatic volumetric liquid level meter.
Another Japanese news report mentioned that the BW’s PEEK Coating has been adopted by the
used in cellular phones. Similarly, the display and keypad of such a sliding cell phone are employed in a sliding
The display and keypad of this sort of sliding cell phone are employed in a sliding manner and so does the folding leaf, and it needs to have good sliding features. Earlier a poluimide material was used but there were issues with the strength of material.
However, there were issues of durability. Again, after adopting PEEK coating, the above desired result was realised or attained.
In practical application it has been found that the coating exhibits good scuffing, friction and abrasion properties, heat, adhesion, processability etc. Experiments revealed that even after 200,000 applications, the layer is able to preserve the initial friction; and in the economy can also lower production costs and at the same time conform to the RoHS standards.
Currently on the market non-stick coating, mainly PTFE and PFA-based, at present, compared with the PTFE non-stick coating we launched the PEEK non-stick coating has more advantages:
This is, as a general rule, about 8 to 10 years, higher than for PTFE (3-5 years) and PFA (5-8 years). This also means that users don’t have to replace the inner liner so often, decreasing the overall cost of use in the long run.
The second material I decided on is PEEK nonstick coating which can be exposed to temperatures up to 260°C The best part is that this is suitable for cooking in high-temperature cooking environments so this is very suitable for high-temperature cooking. The nonstick coating is abrasion resistant and does not peel off, long-lasting in use, the upper-temperature resistance limits of PTFE and PFA are 250°C and 260°C respectively. Due to this, PEEK is more stable in extreme cooking conditions.
The PEEK non-stick coating is nontoxic, meets the FDA food grade certification, has chemical resistance (except sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid), PFAS-free(Hazards of PFAS), and will release no harmful at high temps compared with PTFE nonstick coating, in which, once the PTFE temperature exceeds 350 degrees Celsius, the PTFE decomposes, and starts to release mine a minimal amount of hydrofluoric acid vapors but the PEEK doesn't However, PEEK does not. For this reason, PEEK's nonstick coating delivers better food safety assurance.
PEEK coating has not only a good non-stick effect but also excellent abrasion resistance (hardness and nonstick effect, layer thickness of 30 - 150 µm, scratch resistance up to 270 ° C temperature), easy not to scratch, keep clean surface.
The good resistance of the PEEK non-stick coating to chemicals, achieving lower erosion by detergents and other chemicals used in daily life, can, therefore, increase the service life of cookware.
The PEEK coating is beige in its natural state.
In addition, custom peek coating colors are available

PEEK spraying process conditions
Spray a layer of polyether ether ketone powder coating uniformly on the surface of the sample plate by electrostatic spraying method.
Step 1: Melt at 380°C for 10 min to fully level the coating, and quench directly in an ice-water mixture to obtain an amorphous PEEK coating.
Step 2: then crystallize the amorphous coating at 260°C for 30 min to obtain a semi-crystalline coating.
Step 3: The average particle size of the PEEK powder obtained after crushing and sieving was 21.85 μm, and the particle size distribution showed a typical normal distribution with a narrower distribution, and the cumulative mass fractions of 3% and 97% corresponded to 2.47 and 74.80 μm, respectively, which were suitable for the preparation of PEEK coatings by the electrostatic spraying method.
